REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman provided clarification regarding the unit error in the reporting of 21,000 kilograms of rice aid in previous news. He stated that this correction was necessary to prevent any misinterpretation regarding the distribution of aid being expedited to Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Amran explained that the aid sent in two waves was entirely in the form of goods, both sourced from the government and from the Mentan Peduli program. The entire shipping process, from release in Jakarta to receipt at the disaster posts, was directly supervised by officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Food Agency in each affected province. He emphasized that the unit error was what had become a public concern. The number 21,000, previously written as kilograms, should have referred to 21,000 packages.
