An essential oil plant in Alushta received state financing of 135 million rubles for modernizing its production, reports "MK in Crimea".
The enterprise, founded in 1922, continues the traditions of essential oil processing, using unique technologies and plant cultivation experience in the conditions of the Crimean coast. This was reported by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea, Denis Kratyuk.
"Despite the fact that the Alushta enterprise has a colossal base – magnificent plantations, competent specialists – new equipment was required. It was necessary to breathe new life into the old industry," he said.
Part of the funds was used to establish new essential oil-bearing crops, and the remaining money was invested in the technical equipment of the plant. The opening of a new nursery allowed the enterprise to make a significant step forward. The minister also expressed hope that in the future, the plant will grow not only traditional crops such as lavender, but also exotic fruits.
