Egypt is set to export honey bee parcels to Saudi Arabia by May 15, following negotiations with Saudi authorities to meet the necessary technical conditions. The move comes after the Saudi market was restored and the ban on Egyptian bee parcels lifted by the Saudi Ministry of Agriculture. Last year, Egypt exported one million and 230 thousand bee parcels to the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman, generating $50 per hive. The Arab Beekeepers Union anticipates a surge in exports, and the Ministry of Agriculture is prepared to meet Saudi's requirements. Additionally, Egypt's packaged honey exports saw a 600-ton increase in 2021, reaching 3,100 tons, with Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia as the main importers.
