An improper diet causes a range of illnesses in goats.

On the home farm "Ogo-go kozy-kozy," the goats are fed grass and hay. After all, the quality of the cheese depends on the quality of the milk, so the approach to feed must be very meticulous, writes The Ukrainian Farmer magazine. At the same time, Larysa Hurova, the owner of the farm "Ogo-go kozy-kozy," plans to establish the production of grain mixtures and granulated alfalfa. However, she sees a problem in the specifics of feeding. "In Ukraine, everyone feeds goats as they please. This stems from the Soviet past, when animals were recommended to be fed with vegetables so they wouldn't go to waste," she says. "Ketosis, paresis, and acidosis in goats come from an improperly composed diet. Just think: potatoes, tomatoes, and black nightshade—all from the nightshade family, have the same poisonous substances, and people still stuff potatoes into poor goats.
