The China Edible Fungi Association reports a total output of 43.3417 million tons and a value of 396.557 billion yuan for edible fungi in China in 2023. Henan, Fujian, Heilongjiang, and Hebei provinces were the top producers, each with over 3 million tons. Henan saw a 4.59% increase with a value of 47.412 billion yuan, largely due to shiitake mushrooms. Fujian's output exceeded 120 billion yuan, with 134,700 tons exported, generating 406 million US dollars in foreign exchange. Heilongjiang's edible fungi industry remained stable, and Hebei optimized its industrial belts, forming a 'one main and multiple auxiliary' variety structure and establishing a development space pattern. The report also highlights the development of other provinces such as Shandong, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Jilin, Guizhou, Hubei, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Shaanxi, and Hunan, noting increases in output and value, and efforts towards standardization, mechanization, and export expansion.
