The Andalusian Government has announced a $2 million aid program to help farmers affected by drought through the rural development program. The aid will be used for preventive measures to mitigate the effects of natural disasters and climate adversities, including drought. The aid will be available to farmers registered in the Andalusian Livestock Registry, with 80% of investment costs reimbursed, capped at $20,000 per beneficiary, and a minimum of $1,000. The program will prioritize extensive, shared, eco-friendly, and Red Natura 2000 farms that face natural challenges, and those under Defensive Health Group or with an agricultural insurance.
