The Andalusian Institute of Agricultural, Fisheries, Food and Organic Production Research and Training (Ifapa) has coordinated two unified protocols for biological control of pepper, one for cultivation and another in the seedling phase, which detail in a unified manner with biological control companies the applicable tools and strategies. The protocol for cultivation, which can be consulted on the website of the Andalusian Plant Health Alert Network (https://lajunta.es/661z9), is based on a preventive program that introduces natural enemies of pests progressively according to the state of the crop. The aim is to install the predators before the pest arrives, with low doses and in a sequential release of natural enemies with food to maintain them. For its part, the unified protocol for biological control of pepper in the seedling phase has a curative character, as the predators are released in higher doses and in foci to eradicate the pest.
