The Agro Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (Aoa) is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a focus on sustainability, quality, aggregation, and innovation. Based in Campania, the association has expanded its offerings from industrial tomatoes to other fresh fruit and vegetable products, with a significant share coming from organic cultivation. The association, led by Vincenzo Di Massa and Gennaro Velardo, has around 450 producers and a turnover of approximately 38 million. The main products include tomatoes, persimmons, kohlrabi, radish, lettuce, melon, rocket, cauliflower, and apples. The association is exploring the potential of broccoli and other products, and is experiencing some challenges with the persimmon market. It is primarily selling abroad, mainly to Germany, and is investigating packaging solutions to extend shelf-life.
