Wholesale apple prices in Moldova have increased by an average of 1 lei/kg, ranging from 6-8 lei/kg (approximately $0.31-0.38/kg) due to unexplained reasons. Despite the Russian market slightly opening for Moldovan exporting gardeners, the export of apples to the CIS, particularly Idared, is not significantly growing. Demand prices for Idared in Romania are low, but large producers and traders still export small quantities to the market. The price increase could be influenced by the expectation of a sharp rise in export prices for both Romania and the CIS from January, due to potential decreases in high-quality commercial apple stocks in Poland.
