Aprosoja MT supports reduced tariff for agricultural irrigation

The Association of Soybean and Corn Producers of the State of Mato Grosso (Aprosoja MT) expressed, in a letter sent to the Parliamentary Front of Agribusiness (FPA), support for maintaining the reduction of the electricity tariff for producers who operate with irrigation within the scope of Provisional Measure No. 1,304/2025, which deals with the Energy Development Account (CDE) and establishes a spending ceiling for the electricity sector. The entity highlights that irrigation plays a strategic role in food security, job creation, and the regularity of food production. The tariff discount for irrigation was instituted as a structuring public policy in the country, with the aim of ensuring cost predictability, economic viability, and efficiency in the use of water and energy.
