The CITEtextile Camelids Arequipa, from the Technological Institute of Production (ITP), conducted a technical visit to the Sumac Pallay Association, located in the district of Sibayo, Caylloma province, with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of the camelids textile sector in the region. The activity, which was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Micnetur), allowed the technical teams present to verify the significant advances of the Sumac Pallay Association, a local organization that has improved its production processes thanks to the incorporation of new machinery and technology financed to optimize its value chain. The association currently carries out all stages in an integrated manner, from the classification of alpaca fiber to the production of yarns and the manufacture of high-quality garments and accessories.
