Argentina: beef production increases by more than 20% during the month of July

Valor Agro Argentina | The slaughter of the seventh month of the year 2024 was approximately 1,252 million heads of processed cattle. This implies a significant monthly increase, compared to June, of (+21.6%), which is equivalent to about 222,000 animals; and a fall of (-3.1%) compared to the month of July 2023, which is equivalent to about 39.7 thousand heads, according to the latest Production and Slaughter report from the ABC Consortium. Adjusted for the number of business days in the month, which were 22, there was a significant drop compared to the 16 business days in June, which resulted in (-11.6%), and the daily slaughter reached 56.9 thousand heads in July, falling below the 64.4 thousand daily average for the month of June. In the first seven months of 2024, 7.81 million cattle were slaughtered; (-9.4%) less than the 8.62 million that had been slaughtered between January and July 2023.
