Argentina has started exporting bovine meat to Mexico, following over a decade of negotiations. The inaugural shipment, containing a ton of beef cuts, was inspected by the National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (Senasa) and the National Service for Health, Safety and Food Quality (Senasica) of Mexico. The agreement, which sets the health standards for the export of Argentine beef to Mexico, was ratified on December 2, 2022, allowing Argentina to access the Mexican beef market. The export is anticipated to boost the Argentine meat industry's international presence, with 21 other establishments in Argentina also authorized to export to Mexico. The process involved extensive audits of Argentine beef production and processing facilities by a Senasica delegation in July of the previous year.
