Argentina has exported deforestation-free beef for the first time, with a shipment to Germany marking a significant step forward in its export promotion policies. This milestone aligns with the global trend towards livestock production with a reduced environmental impact, as it is expected that meat and soy products will need to be certified as produced in non-deforested areas by 2025. The export achievement is a collaborative effort by the Secretariat of Bioeconomy, SENASA, IPCVA, and the VISEC Platform, which has developed a traceability and certification system for deforestation-free beef and soy. This system adheres to the regulations set by the European Union.
