The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has approved Argentina's proposed health certificate for the export of refrigerated and frozen pork. This decision is expected to enhance commercial exchange between the two countries. Despite the UAE being a Muslim nation where pork consumption is prohibited, it permits the importation of pork for consumption by its non-Muslim residents. In 2019, the UAE imported pork products worth 37.3 million dollars annually. On the other hand, Argentina's pork exports saw a significant increase in 2020, reaching a value of 55.88 million dollars, with China being its primary market.
