Argentina has successfully exported 1,022,760 boxes of pears and apples for the 2024 season to Mexico, marking a 32% increase from the previous season and a 103% increase from 2022. The exports, which originated from Río Negro and Neuquén provinces, were certified by the National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa) as part of a Work Plan aimed at minimizing the risk of quarantine pests. The plan requires specific inspections at both field and packaging levels for Grapholita molesta and Pseudococcus viburni. This season saw participation from 15 exporters, with financial and administrative support from the Committee of Producers and Exporters of Fruit for the United States and Mexico (COPEXEU).
