Argentina reaches a record in soy exports in the first quarter

Argentine exports of soybeans and derivatives reached a record value of 5,025 million dollars in the first quarter of the year, according to data released by the Rosario Stock Exchange. This historical figure was due to the rise in the price of these products on the world market, since the quantities exported were below the record reached in 2016. The volume of soybeans and derivatives exported by Argentina in the first three months of the year was 9.06 million tons (compared to the maximum of 9.44 million in the first quarter of 2016). Data from the Rosario Stock Exchange show that the value of soybean meal and pellet exports practically doubled compared to the first quarter of 2020; in the case of oil, the increase was 134% and in that of biodiesel, 57%.
