The 2023/24 soybean production in Argentina is projected to reach an impressive 50 million tons, more than doubling the output of the previous season. This remarkable growth is due to a 35.3% increase in the harvested area and an 84.8% rise in yield, with the Central Region alone contributing over 76% of the total production, marking a 218% increase. As a result, national exports are expected to surge to 6.9 million tons, the highest since the 18/19 campaign, while the oil industry is anticipated to process 39.6 million tons of soybeans. This boom in production is also enhancing the industrialization of Argentine soybeans, leading to an increase in the importation of oilseed for export as by-products, estimated at 4.9 million tons. Additionally, about 3.6 million tons of soybeans are expected to be utilized directly in the feed industry, benefiting livestock, particularly poultry and pigs.
