Argentina: soybeans show high yields

Light and occasional rains allowed the harvest to progress, but the big news this season is productivity. Against all expectations, soybeans are showing results that are far superior to those predicted. In the central region, the first soybean harvest averaged 4.1 tons/ha, with productivity peaks above 6 tons/ha. The heterogeneity between regions is noticeable, but even in the most affected regions, the results exceeded expectations. The highest productivities were observed in the extreme south of Santa Fé and in the southeast of Córdoba, with averages of 4.2 and 4.5 tons/ha, respectively. In the Marcos Juárez region, productivity is around 4 t/ha. In contrast, the province of Buenos Aires, in the northwest, has lower yields, averaging 3.8 t/ha.
