Despite the DANA cold drop, which caused damage to artichoke plants in the Valencian Community, particularly in the Campo de Turia region, Spanish artichoke production is expected to reach around 220,000 tons in 2022. The article also highlights the challenges faced by the sector, such as increased costs, difficulty in generational transfer, and the quality of locally produced canned artichokes compared to imports.
