Aydın, a city in Turkey and a significant center for artichoke production, is experiencing a delay in the harvest season due to cold weather, with the season beginning in April instead of March. Despite three frosts, the quality of the harvested artichokes is satisfactory, and field prices are around 2.5-3 liras per piece. The majority of the produce is sent to Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, with an estimated production of 30 million units if temperatures do not rise early, otherwise, production will be 15-20 million units.
