Ukraine has seen a 14% decrease in its cattle population as of November 1, according to the State Statistics Service, with a significant drop in both industrial and household herds. The total milk production in the country has decreased by 12.4% in the first 10 months, with a total of 6.575 million tons produced. Despite the losses, dairy farms in safer regions have managed to minimize losses through efficient operation and relocation of livestock. However, household production has decreased by 15.6% due to a lack of flexibility. The role of the industrial sector in food processing continues to increase, with its share of milk processing rising to 85.7% compared to 14.6% from household milk.
