Asaja in Córdoba has filed a complaint with the Food Information and Control Agency (AICA), which is under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, due to the existence of "clear indications of a possible distortion in the formation of the prices of olive oil at origin during the 2025/2026 campaign." The agrarian organization considers, as stated in a statement, that "the current market evolution could be violating the spirit and fundamental principles" of Law 12/2013 of the Food Chain, amended by Law 16/2021, whose objective is to guarantee a sustainable distribution of added value among all the links in the chain.
