Asaja Murcia warns of the "critical" situation of the sheep sector and demands "urgent" measures.

The Agrarian Association of Young Farmers (Asaja) in Murcia has alerted to the "critical" situation facing the sheep sector in the Region of Murcia, marked by the "unsustainable increase" in production costs, the reduction in the livestock census, the lack of generational renewal, the presence of diseases that increase mortality and veterinary costs, and the absence of sufficient aid that would allow the continuity of the farms. Asaja Murcia warns that, "if immediate measures are not taken", the Region could lose one of its most traditional livestock sectors, which generates employment in the rural environment and is fundamental for the maintenance of the landscape and the prevention of fires.
