The Israeli citrus sector is experiencing a successful harvest season with good weather, smooth shipments, and high demand for Jaffa Orri mandarins, which is expected to yield 18% more than the previous season, reaching 100,000 tons. The mandarin's unique taste, color, size, and aroma make it the most demanded in the world. The season started later than usual but has allowed the fruit to reach full sweetness due to recent rainfall. In addition to mandarins, the export of Ruby grapefruit has also been successful, with demand covering all available quantities. The 2022/23 yield is projected to reach 496,000 tons, thanks to normal weather conditions and no changes in the cultivation area. Shipments of Jaffa Orri mandarins are expected to continue through May, with France, Germany, the UK, and Switzerland being the largest European markets.
