In February 2025, Peru experienced a notable shift in its fresh asparagus export market, with a total volume of 1,930 tons exported despite a 16% decrease in value compared to the same month the previous year. This downturn in value is largely attributed to a significant drop in average price to $2.97 per kilogram, a 29% decrease from February 2024. Despite this, the Netherlands remained the primary destination for Peruvian asparagus, albeit with a 42% decrease in value. On the other hand, the United States and Spain saw increases in both volume and value. Over 86% of these exports were shipped from Jorge Chávez International Airport, with major contributions from exporters such as TAL S.A., Agualima S.A.C., and TA Export S.A.C.
