At the awards ceremony for next-generation fishery managers, a Gyeongnam fisherman received the top prize.

Gyeongnam Province recently announced that a Gyeongnam fisherman received the highest award in the fisheries sector, the Presidential Citation (1st place) and the Ministerial Citation, at the '45th Next-Generation Fisheries and Agriculture Management Awards Ceremony' held by the Korea Press Center. The event was organized by the Seoul Shinmun Newspaper Company and sponsored by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Rural Development Administration. The fisherman, Gu Ja-hong, who received the Presidential Citation, made significant contributions to improving the quality and production of scallop farming through modernization in Goseong County and securing stable sales channels. Additionally, as the chairman of the Gyeongnam Young Fishermen's Association, he was recognized for his efforts in enhancing communication and cooperation among young fishermen and promoting the settlement and revitalization of local fishing villages.
