Live pig prices in Ukraine this week average 98–99 UAH/kg and have remained stable for several weeks in a row, indicating a temporary balance between supply and demand, reports "ProAgro Group".
According to the forecast of the "Meat Industry" Association, at the current level, the cost of live pigs will remain at the beginning of autumn, although prices may vary by region due to the heterogeneous distribution of production and processing capacities.
Similarly, live pig prices in Canada are currently stable at 1.59 €/kg, while in the EU and the USA they have decreased by 1% and 3% respectively (to 2.06 €/kg and 2.09 $/kg), and in Brazil they have increased by 8% (to 1.65 €/kg).
The association notes that pork from Ukraine could increase its share in the global market and stimulate the development of the meat industry and pig farming in Ukraine.
