On June 13, the Egyptian Food Procurement Agency GASC held an international tender for the purchase of 40,000 tons of vegetable oil for delivery from July 20 to August 5 and/or from August 15 to 31, 2024. At the tender, it is planned to contract 30,000 tons of soybean and 10,000 tons of sunflower oil with immediate payment. Compared to the previous tender from May 9, the number of submitted proposals increased sharply, but the prices of the proposals also increased. 17 lots of sunflower oil were offered at prices of $1085-1163/t C&F, which is $85-100/t C&F higher than in the previous tender, as well as 13 lots of soybean oil at prices of $1045-1155/t C&F, which is also 50-80 $/t more expensive.
