Australia's agricultural sector has experienced significant growth since the end of a three-year drought in 2020, with record wheat production for three consecutive years due to high rainfall. The gross value of agricultural production hit a record A$94 billion in 2022–2023. However, future crop yields, including wheat, barley, and rapeseed, are expected to be below average, leading to a predicted decline in the gross value of agricultural production to A$78 billion in 2023-2024, which is still the third highest on record.
