In 2020, the Netherlands saw varying results in maize cultivation. Approximately 194,700 hectares of silage maize were cultivated, marking an increase from the previous year but a decrease from 2017. The average yield was impressive at 44.9 tons per hectare. Additionally, over 12,700 hectares of grain maize and 6,700 hectares of corn for corn cob mix were cultivated. The yield per hectare for grain maize was 11.6 tons, and for the corn cob mix, it was 10.7 tons.
