Through expansions at two production locations, potato manufacturer Aviko's processing capacity in China is increasing considerably.

In the factory in Gansu province, Aviko is increasing the capacity for potato flake and granulate production by 70 percent. According to the processor, this will strengthen its position in fast-growing markets like Asia. Earlier this month, an additional french fry line was already put into operation at the location near the Mongolian city of Xilinhot. This tripled the capacity of the relevant factory. In a press release, Aviko explains the expansion by stating that global demand for potato products is increasing. This applies not only to chilled and frozen products, but also to dried ingredients such as potato flakes and granulates. These plant-based ingredients are used in products like mashed potatoes, ready-to-eat meals, snacks, bakery products, soups, and sauces.
