In 2024, Bac Ninh province in Vietnam cultivated 28,800 hectares of rice, with over 20,000 hectares dedicated to high-yield, high-quality varieties. This was made possible through the formation of 280 rice production areas, facilitated by land consolidation and scientific advancements. Thuan Thanh town, a part of the province, has seen success with the Japanese rice variety J02, which is pest and disease-resistant and offers high yield. The town supports farmers by subsidizing 50% of seeds and fertilizers, leading to a profit margin of 30 - 40% of total revenue.
