Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has ordered to increase the number of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives markets from 180 to 500, and then to 1000, in response to rising food prices. The move is aimed at balancing the market and preventing exploitation of citizens. The Turkey Retailers Federation has also suggested regulations to prevent unfair competition and maintain balance in the retail industry. The federation highlighted issues such as the difference in VAT rates and the growth of private label products in national and discount markets.
