Italy: Coldiretti, dairies flooded in the north, and wheat was destroyed by hail

Wheat swept away by hail, agricultural vehicles overturned by the wind, a flooded dairy farm and damaged greenhouses. It is the first assessment of the new wave of bad weather that has hit Northern Italy with the heaviest situation recorded in the Bergamo area, according to monitoring by Coldiretti. Cloudbursts, violent gusts of wind and ice chips mainly affected the Brembana Valley, the Imagna Valley, the Seriana Valley and the Scalve Valley. Crops in the field and various structures such as greenhouses and roofs of agricultural buildings were damaged. In the municipalities of San Giovanni Bianco and Camerata Cornello the strong wind overturned agricultural vehicles, while in the area of Oltre il Colle and Zambla the hail destroyed what remained of the first cut of hay and compromised the second cut.
