Bahia's cattle farming reached a historic milestone in 2024, registering the highest volume of bovine livestock in the last 50 years. Data from the Municipal Livestock Survey (PPM), released by the IBGE, confirmed that the state's bovine herd grew by 3.5% compared to 2023. This was the second highest percentage increase in the country, surpassed only by Pará, a giant in rapid expansion. With a total of 13.7 million head, Bahia consolidates its position, currently occupying the seventh place in the national ranking of cattle breeding.
