A poverty alleviation project in China's Jilin Province has seen success with the opening of Pengji Picking Garden in a village. Covering 26,000 square meters and using soilless cultivation for strawberries and persimmons, the garden has seen substantial income growth for local farmers. Each shed can pick 7000 kg of persimmons, generating over 200,000 yuan annually. The income boost has addressed employment issues and provides a way for villagers to earn a living without leaving their village, with one villager achieving over 2,000 yuan in monthly income.
