Balearic Islands calls for aid to prevent vegetable pests

The Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) published on December 9th the Resolution by which aid is called for for plant defense groups to prevent plant pests for the year 2026. According to the regulations, farms dedicated to plant production have a great difficulty in the fight against harmful agents in their farms. This difficulty has been accentuated in recent years with the detection of new pests and diseases, which requires higher qualification, specialization, and constant training of the personnel dedicated to this task, which farmers cannot assume without the external advice of qualified technicians. These aids are intended for plant defense groups with the purpose of preventing plant pests and infestation by invasive alien species. Plant defense groups (ADV) integrated by producers can be considered direct beneficiaries and request the aid provided for in this Resolution.
