Prices for tuna in the Philippines and Bangkok have dropped to $1,450/ton, due to strong fishing in the Western Pacific, particularly in the waters of Papua New Guinea and Kiribati. The 45-day fishing ban in the Western and Central Pacific has ended, while the first 72-day ban in the Eastern Pacific is underway, leading to slower progress. The market in the European region is currently weak, with the price of Spanish skipjack remaining at €1,550/ton, while fishing in the Indian Ocean remains strong.
