Bangladesh has requested Malaysia to supply refined palm oil for the upcoming Ramadan through the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh, supported by the Malaysian government. This request was made during a meeting between Bangladesh's Ministry of Commerce adviser, Sk Bashir Uddin, and Malaysia's Minister of Plantation and Commodities, YB Datuk Seri Johari bin Abdul Ghani. The meeting also covered other aspects of Bangladesh-Malaysia relations, trade, investment opportunities, and collaboration in the rubber sector. Malaysia, being the world's second largest palm oil producer, and Bangladesh, a significant importer of Malaysian crude palm oil, are exploring potential partnerships in various sectors.
