Bayer submits registration application for new herbicide Icafolin in four major markets, set to debut in Brazil in 2028.

Icafolin is seen by the industry as the first herbicide with a new mode of action for post-emergence weed control in field crops in over 30 years, belonging to a completely new chemical class. It is predicted that the product's peak sales could reach 7.5 billion euros (approximately 8.58 billion US dollars), with plans to first launch in the Brazilian market in 2028. This product has multiple technical advantages: lower application rates, more precise targeted application, and outstanding performance in terms of safety and sustainability. Its inherent properties make it suitable for precision spraying and low-dose use, allowing Bayer to apply for product registration with a lower risk category.
