Beans grown on corn — Polish farmer shares experience

Green beans are a labor-intensive crop, primarily due to the need to set up special supports for them. But one can try another method - sowing beans together with corn, on which the legume plant can climb, moreover, it is possible to harvest two crops, writes Farmer.pl. The topic of growing legumes on corn is not new, but it primarily concerns the use of plants for green fodder, notes the author. Whereas Polish farmer Szczepan Wojdat decided to grow edible beans in this way, and therefore, when harvesting, it is necessary to separate the beans from the corn kernels. On Szczepan's farm, agricultural activities are diverse: various crops are grown on several hundred hectares of land. For years, they have been sowing seedless pumpkins, trading harvesting equipment for them, and purchasing seeds.
