Beef Production Could Increase Again

The trend from last year related to beef production growth may continue this year. However, experts warn that the current volume increase is far from a favorable situation for the market. Cattle production for slaughter in live weight in Russia in 2024 increased by 0.2% compared to 2023 — to 2.9 million tons, reports the "Agroanalytic Center" subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture. Personal subsidiary farms accounted for 46.3% of total production — 1.3 million tons (3.5% less than a year earlier). In agricultural organizations, production grew by 4.5% and amounted to 1.2 million tons, or 40.6% of total production. Peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs produced 1.4% more beef than in 2024: 375,500 tons, or 13.1% of total volume. Miratorg's press service notes that last year saw a sharp reduction in cattle herds in Russia across dairy, meat, and crossbred cattle.
