Meat production, bovine livestock, broilers, slaughter, and statistics from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) recorded mixed results in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to the "Fairs and Slaughterhouses" bulletin from the National Institute of Statistics (INE). In the period from October to December, the production of beef decreased by 7.4% year-on-year, reaching 46,185 tons, while the slaughter of bovines fell by 8.7%, with 173,190 heads slaughtered for human consumption. In swine, the slaughter increased by 0.2% year-on-year, with 1,395,523 heads, and a production of beef of 147,456 tons. In sheep, 31,491 heads were slaughtered, with an interannual growth of 0.8%, while the production of beef reached 466 tons, with an increase of 2.7% over twelve months. In poultry, the industry showed a positive performance in broilers.
