Between January and March of 2021, Paraguay saw a significant increase in beef exports, with Hong Kong being the highest growing destination with a 214% increase in value and 188% increase in quantity. Chile remained the primary destination, accounting for 42.8% of the income and 37% of the volume. Other notable destinations included Russia, Israel, Brazil, and Taiwan. In the first quarter of 2021, Paraguay's beef exports brought in USD 355.5 million for 87.2 thousand tons, marking a 26% increase in both value and volume compared to the same period in the previous year. The average price of meat slightly increased by 0.5% compared to the previous year, with Israel paying the highest price per ton at USD 5,358.
