Last year, beer sales in Germany dropped by 6% compared to 2024, to around 7.8 billion liters, announced the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). These are the weakest sales since statistics on the indicator began in 1003, and for the first time the recorded quantities are below 8 billion liters. The statistical office indicates that over 10 years (compared to 2015) beer sales in Germany have decreased by 18.9%, or about 1.8 billion liters. Around 82.5% of the total quantity, or 6.4 billion liters, was sold on the domestic market, with a drop of 5.8% compared to 2024. The remaining 17.5% were either exported or consumed by the brewery staff, with a year-on-year decrease of 7% to about 1.4 billion liters.
