Belgium remains a major buyer of Dutch potatoes

In January of this year, the Netherlands exported 72,552 tons of consumption and industrial potatoes. A very large part of this, no less than 41,975 tonnes, went to Belgium. This is evident from the most recent export figures from the Dutch Potato Organization, NAO. Export to the EU Belgium has already imported 227,034 tons of Dutch potatoes this season up to and including January 2023. This is 75,822 tons more than the year before. The export to Germany stands out, because significantly fewer Dutch potatoes go there. 31,342 tons compared to 48,035 tons last year. Africa In Africa, Senegal is an important buyer of Dutch potatoes. In January, 2,329 tons went there. This brings the export total for this season to 33,050 tonnes, ten tonnes more than last year. Exports to Ivory Coast are also going well with 19,152 tons and Mauritania with 13,749 tons.
