In January 2025, Peru experienced a significant increase in bell pepper exports, with a 71% rise in volume and a 65% increase in value compared to the same month in 2024. The total export weight was 2,319 tons, earning Peru $4.38 million. The United States was the primary market, receiving 61% of the shipments, followed by Puerto Rico with a 14% share. Peru also began exporting to new markets such as Germany, Japan, and Sweden. The average price per kilogram dropped by 3.1% to $1.89. Ecosac Agrícola S.A.C., V&F S.A.C., and Agroindustrias AIB S.A. were the leading exporters.
