The Ben Tre Department of Agriculture and Rural Development reported an increase in coconut prices, which is largely attributed to global market trends. As the largest coconut-growing region in Vietnam and the world's smallest contributor to the global market, the local price is significantly influenced by global market fluctuations. To ensure price stability and sustainability, the department urges the development of high-value coconut products, improved agricultural standards, increased processing and export, and the establishment of a new coconut value chain. The province also emphasizes the need for connecting businesses with farmers, enhancing cooperative groups and cooperatives, and providing technical and market support to growers. Additionally, the province plans to expand organic coconut cultivation and implement economic contracts to boost commodity production areas.
