In Ukraine, cherry prices are declining - over the past few days, the average berry price has fallen from 200 UAH/kg to 150 UAH/kg. However, despite this trend, the country is facing the highest price levels in the past ten years. EastFruit reports this. "Last year, cherries cost 135 UAH/kg a day earlier (May 27), in 2020 - 60 UAH/kg, in 2019 - 35 UAH/kg, and in 2016 - 25 UAH/kg," experts say. The high price level is due to frosts during stone fruit flowering and cold weather this month. As a reminder, a week ago, only imported cherries were on the market, and their prices were truly "astronomical". In some places, they reached 1,500 UAH/kg. One package noticed in Rivne contained only 11 berries and cost 162 hryvnias and 76 kopecks. According to experts, high cherry prices can be observed for at least a month - until Transcarpathian berries appear. These may be sold at prices of "300, 200, or even 100 hryvnias per kilogram".
